Everything starts and ends with safety. Our approach to safety, “Safety by choice, not by chance” is built around the idea that construction injuries are preventable and that each of our employees should be able to go home safely to their families at the end of every shift.

We believe that our employees are our most valuable asset. Ensuring their safety and health is not just a responsibility but a privilege and central to our company’s culture. Our personnel work in extremely high-risk industries and environments and perform inherently dangerous tasks on a daily basis. Consequently, our award-winning safety program, stellar safety performance, and the culture of safety that we have built is one of our biggest points of pride.

Our Program Includes:

• Project-Specific Risk Identification, Analysis, & Mitigation Planning: Tailored safety strategies for each project to address unique risks.

• Site-Specific Safety Manuals: Developed for every project, including detailed scope-specific Isafe work procedures.

• Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Forms: Comprehensive hazard analysis for every task, regularly updated to reflect changes in scope or new risks.

• Pre-Task Plans (PTP): Mandatory for all personnel before starting work; reviewed and revised if jobsite conditions or hazards change.

• Weekly Toolbox Talks: Conducted with all personnel to reinforce safety practices and address specific site conditions.

• Culture of Safety: Cultivated over 100 years, integrating safety into new hire orientations, extensive training programs, regular audits by various stakeholders, and safety-focused discussions in all meeting formats.

• Proactive Safety Initiatives: Monthly safety themes through our “12 Months of Safety” program, quarterly focus weeks with in-depth safety topics, and safety performance trends reviewed in operations meetings and displayed on our internal website.

• Leadership Involvement: Direct engagement from the president and senior leadership in our Craft Safety Committee, emphasizing safety at all levels.
